Quick Facts

PodPlay has secured $8 million in a Series A funding round to accelerate its growth in participatory sports venues.

The round was led by Frontier Growth, with partner Dave Pandullo joining PodPlay’s board.

Based in New York City, PodPlay spun off from PingPod and offers a vertical SaaS platform combining software, hardware and automation.

The platform includes features such as reservations, memberships, coaching, events, payments, video replays, digital scoreboards and autonomous access.

PodPlay serves major tech-enabled venues in sports like pickleball, including Pickleball Kingdom and CityPickle.

The company reports tripled revenue year-over-year and has served nearly one million users to date.

Funds will support expansion of its engineering, sales and customer-success teams to meet rising demand.

PodPlay’s growth reflects a broader trend toward tech-driven recreation and premium sports-venue experiences.
